Job Overview

The Porter is tasked with maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout key warehouse areas to ensure a secure environment for both customers and staff. This role includes handling spills and hazardous substances and keeping daily sanitation and cleaning logs up to date in accordance with company HACCP standards. Additional responsibilities may include minor facility maintenance such as painting touch-ups, cleaning pallets, and lighting upkeep as directed by the branch manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Sweeping interior and exterior sections of the building to maintain cleanliness.
• Cleaning and upkeep of all restrooms within the facility.
• Cleaning windows, doors, and the coffee area as required.
• Managing trash containers placed throughout the premises.
• Operating equipment such as trash compactors, cardboard balers, and floor scrubbers as necessary.
• Addressing spills promptly within the warehouse environment.
• Keeping the employee break room clean according to a designated schedule.
• Supporting department managers with aisle cleaning tasks.
• Verifying compliance with HACCP protocols and updating sanitation logs accordingly.
• Performing additional duties assigned by management.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Effective communication abilities.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation and hygiene procedures.
• Familiarity or willingness to learn operating floor machines, balers, and compactors.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
