Stocker - Aisle

Job Overview

This position as a Stocker focuses on delivering prompt and friendly customer assistance, replenishing merchandise on shelving units, and maintaining clean aisle areas. The role operates under the oversight of Floor Supervisors and Managers, adhering to non-exempt status guidelines.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide courteous and friendly service to customers promptly.
• Unload boxes from pallets, open them, and arrange individual products on shelves.
• Perform product rotation to prevent expired items on shelves.
• Organize merchandise and ensure items are front-faced properly.
• Conduct inspections complying with HACCP standards for food safety.
• Assist in daily inventory checks to minimize damage and shrinkage.
• Verify shelf pricing accuracy reflecting current prices and market trends.
• Maintain cleanliness through scheduled scrub-downs and pallet area cleaning.
• Monitor floor areas for safety, promptly addressing spills and removing debris such as plastic wrap, ties, and wood pieces.
• Report low or out-of-stock items swiftly to supervisors.
• Perform additional assigned duties and be flexible to work in different departments as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

Physical Requirements

• Mandatory use of steel-toed boots for safety.
• Capability to lift/carry loads up to 50 pounds frequently and overhead lifting of the same weight.
• Ability to carry items up to 50 pounds over short distances and perform frequent lifts over 12 times per hour.
• Sufficient horizontal push/pull strength to move up to 500 pounds.
• High levels of agility, finger dexterity, and manual dexterity (80-100%).
• Constant standing and walking; occasional reaching above shoulders, climbing, kneeling, squatting; frequent bending and head twisting.

Work Environment

• Variable temperatures including refrigerated and freezer areas; exposure sensitive to outdoors near receiving and front-end zones.
• Awareness required around moving equipment such as forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and scooters.
