About the Role
Dubai Golf is looking to hire an experienced Painter & Polisher to be part of its Facilities and Maintenance team. This role focuses on applying various finishes such as painting, polishing, and varnishing across club premises to uphold a superior visual and quality standard aligned with luxury hospitality and golf environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling cracks, and minor repairs to ensure readiness for finishing.
- Apply paints, varnishes, lacquers, stains, and protective coatings to surfaces including walls, ceilings, doors, furniture, wood and metal fixtures.
- Perform detailed polishing and finishing work maintaining a premium appearance on wood, metal, and decorative elements.
- Conduct touch-ups, repainting, and restoration projects as necessary to preserve aesthetic quality.
- Mix and select appropriate paints and finishing substances to attain the required colors and textures.
- Use tools such as brushes, rollers, spray systems, sanding and polishing machines safely and effectively.
- Inspect all completed work to verify it meets the club’s quality standards.
- Work closely with the Maintenance team to schedule tasks minimizing disturbance to members and operations.
- Maintain and care for tools, materials, and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and adhere to safety standards at all times.
- Follow strict health, safety, and environmental protocols in the handling of paints, solvents, and equipment.
- Report any maintenance concerns, material needs, or repair issues promptly to supervisory staff.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working as a Painter & Polisher, ideally in hospitality or similar commercial settings.
- Strong familiarity with surface preparation, painting techniques, polishing, varnishing, and finishing processes.
- Knowledge of various paints, sealants, coatings, and polishing compounds.
- Ability to safely operate painting and polishing tools and equipment.
- Attention to detail with a strong dedication to craftsmanship quality.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Physically fit to handle standing for long periods, lifting, bending, and working at heights.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety regulations.
- Flexibility to undertake shift work including weekends and public holidays as needed.
Preferred Credentials
- Possession of at least a high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Additional technical certification or vocational training in painting, polishing, or related trades is beneficial.
- Basic awareness of general maintenance operations is regarded as an advantage.
