Job Overview

Westin Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Plumber to join their engineering and facilities team located in Dubai Marina, United Arab Emirates. This full-time role requires physical presence onsite, focusing on maintenance and servicing of various hotel equipment and guest-related repair requests.

Core Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to guest repair calls and effectively communicate to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Conduct visual inspections of tools, machinery, and equipment to identify necessary repairs.
• Carry and utilize equipment such as tools and radios as required on duty.
• Locate and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Maintain inventory levels for maintenance supplies and requisition parts as needed.
• Effectively communicate shift activities and challenges utilizing approved communication methods.
• Demonstrate foundational knowledge or willingness to acquire skills in areas including air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen appliances, vehicles, and energy conservation.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and air conditioning filter changes, and thorough cleanup afterward.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair equipment and guestroom items such as plumbing fixtures, electrical components, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, switches, outlets, and program televisions.
• Adhere to lockout/tagout safety procedures prior to maintenance work.
• Maintain both interior and exterior landscaping including sprinkler systems.
• Exercise basic computer skills for tasks like inputting air handler schedules and temperature adjustments.
• Follow company safety and security protocols, report hazards or accidents, complete mandatory safety training, and handle flammable materials properly.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information, safeguard company assets.
• Welcome guests according to company standards, anticipate and meet their service needs, assist guests with disabilities, and express appreciation to all guests.
• Meet quality standards, maintain positive teamwork environment, and communicate clearly and professionally.
• Physically able to lift, carry, push, pull objects up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier items with help, navigate stairs, ramps, ladders, and perform bending, twisting, and stooping motions.
• Utilize computers to access work-related information and perform other assigned reasonable duties.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Some prior experience in general maintenance including surface preparation and painting preferred.
• Experience within hotel engineering or maintenance is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Must hold a valid Driver’s License.
• No supervisory experience required for this position.
