Role Overview

The PLC-Plant Operator will be responsible for managing daily operations of plant machinery and PLC-controlled systems to guarantee production is safe, efficient, and consistent. This full-time remote position involves overseeing process parameters, modifying PLC interface settings, and reacting to alarms or unusual equipment behavior in partnership with on-site teams. The operator will enforce standard operating procedures, assist with quality control, and keep meticulous records of production data and incidents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate plant equipment and automated PLC systems to maintain steady production.
  • Adjust parameters and settings on PLC interfaces as necessary to optimize processes.
  • Respond promptly to equipment alarms or irregularities in coordination with on-site personnel.
  • Implement and follow standard operating procedures to uphold operational consistency.
  • Support quality control activities by monitoring product standards and documenting outcomes.
  • Record production data and report any incidents or deviations from protocols.
  • Work closely with maintenance and operations staff to troubleshoot machine issues and optimize performance.
  • Adhere strictly to safety and environmental policies aligned with company sustainability objectives.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Proven skills in plant operations, including managing production processes and coordinating plant activities.
  • Experience operating machinery, especially automated and PLC-driven equipment.
  • Basic maintenance aptitude, including troubleshooting equipment and assisting with preventive maintenance.
  • Competence in quality control procedures, documenting results, and reporting any variations in product quality.
  • Forklift operation experience or proficiency in safe handling of materials using industrial equipment.
  • Desirable knowledge of PLC systems, including programming fundamentals and monitoring industrial automation processes.
  • Diploma or degree in engineering, industrial technology, or a related discipline preferred, with background in manufacturing, agribusiness, or energy sectors advantageous.
  • Strong attention to even small details with a dedicated focus on safety.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both remote and on-site team members.
  • Comfortable using digital tools for remote monitoring and documentation.
