Platform Engineer (DV Security Clearance)

Role Overview

Join CGI as a Platform Engineer working on vital UK national security projects. This position focuses on designing, automating, and evolving cloud-native Kubernetes platforms that enable rapid, secure delivery of critical services. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams in a supportive, innovative environment, helping shape platform strategy and elevating operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage secure Kubernetes-based platforms that support national security functions.
• Create and enhance automation capabilities for platform operations.
• Provide and maintain self-service tooling for developer teams to accelerate software deployment.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code methodologies to manage platform environments.
• Optimize and automate Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and GitOps workflows.
• Ensure platform reliability, scalability, performance, and security improvements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within infrastructure and applications.
• Collaborate effectively within Agile teams to deliver engineering solutions.
• Champion and contribute to engineering standards and best practices for sustainable platform development.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes platforms.
• Strong expertise with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.
• Proficiency in Linux system administration and automation.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, or equivalents.
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines with automation capabilities.
• Solid understanding of container technologies and cloud-native ecosystems.
• Familiarity with Git version control workflows.
• Competence in programming or scripting languages such as Python, Go, Java, or Bash.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with capability to address complex technical challenges.
• Ability to work collaboratively in Agile delivery environments.
