Security and Location Requirements

This role demands UK Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain it and involves working on a secure site.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage secure Kubernetes-based platforms essential to national security operations.
• Collaborate with development teams to provide scalable, automated, and self-service platform capabilities facilitating accelerated and dependable software delivery.
• Lead platform engineering projects, driving innovation via automation, cloud-native technologies, and modern engineering techniques.
• Enhance platform reliability, scalability, and security through ongoing improvements.
• Resolve intricate infrastructure and application issues proficiently.
• Participate in Agile delivery teams and contribute to platform standards and best practices to create lasting value for clients and users.
• Optimize and automate CI/CD and GitOps workflows to support consistent deployment processes.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions.
• Support and enable self-service tooling for development teams.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Hands-on experience administering and operating Kubernetes platforms.
• Fluency with GitOps tools, such as ArgoCD or Flux.
• Strong Linux system administration and automation abilities.
• Proven capability with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, or equivalents.
• Expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Deep understanding of container technologies and cloud-native ecosystems.
• Proficient in Git-based source control workflows.
• Experience scripting or developing software with Python, Go, Java, Bash, or similar languages.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
• Ability to work effectively inside Agile engineering teams.
