AI/ML Engineer

About the Role

Join AIEMTEK Private Limited, an early-stage AI technology company focused on crafting advanced AI solutions for enterprise clients across India, the UK, Europe, and the Americas. As an AI/ML Engineer, you will partner with the Founding AI/ML Tech Lead to research, design, develop, and deploy AI-driven applications. This hands-on position involves working throughout the entire AI product lifecycle — from research and experimentation to prototyping, development, testing, and operational deployment. You will have the freedom to explore emerging AI technologies and contribute ideas that may evolve into proprietary, commercially viable products and intellectual property.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI/ML solutions targeting realistic enterprise challenges.
• Develop applications leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI techniques.
• Create and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications, AI agents, and intelligent workflow systems.
• Work extensively with embeddings, vector databases, prompt engineering, and model evaluation methods.
• Continuously experiment with various AI models and approaches to boost accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Construct AI pipelines tailored for both structured and unstructured datasets.
• Assess and benchmark AI models and solutions to ensure performance standards.
• Translate business and technical requirements into functional AI products, build rapid prototypes and MVPs.
• Develop reusable AI components and services, support moving prototypes into production environments.
• Integrate AI functionalities into enterprise applications via API development and integration.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and support deployed AI systems.
• Manage data preparation workflows and maintain relational and vector database solutions.
• Engage with REST API development and consumption.
• Adhere to software engineering best practices including version control (Git), testing, documentation, and code reviews.
• Assist in cloud deployment and ongoing monitoring of AI applications.
• Keep abreast of the latest advances in Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, and machine learning technologies.
• Participate in research and experimentation to seek commercial applications for new models, frameworks, and tools.
• Identify prospects for differentiated technological innovations and intellectual property generation.
• Contribute to technical papers, prototypes, internal frameworks, and proof-of-concept demonstrations.
• Collaborate closely with the AI/ML Tech Lead and software development teams, join technical discussions and architecture planning.
• Document methodologies, experiments, and lessons learned throughout the process.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Between 1 to 3 years of professional background in AI/ML, software engineering, or closely related technical fields.
• Proficient in Python programming.
• Good foundational knowledge of machine learning concepts and modern AI methods.
• Hands-on experience working with Generative AI and Large Language Models.
• Practical use of technologies such as RAG, LLM APIs, embeddings, vector databases, prompt engineering, AI agents or agent-based workflows, NLP, and model evaluation.
• Experience in working with APIs and database systems.
• Familiarity with Git and established software development methodologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to quickly assimilate new knowledge and work independently.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph.
• Familiarity with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or open-source LLMs.
• Experience using Hugging Face and open-source AI models.
• Competency in deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in document AI or intelligent document processing.
• Experience integrating AI solutions with ERP or major enterprise platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Salesforce.
• Knowledge or exposure to AI security, governance, model evaluation, or observability.
• Experience with model fine-tuning and parameter-efficient tuning techniques.
