Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Plasterer to join our expanding team supporting an active responsive repairs contract based in Cambridge. This role involves providing top-quality plastering repairs and finishes mainly in occupied social housing properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct responsive plastering repairs within occupied residences.
- Perform patch repairs on walls and ceilings resulting from leaks, electrical work, or other trades.
- Prepare surfaces and apply materials such as plaster, bonding agents, boarding, rendering, and skimming.
- Repair damaged walls and ceilings including both patchwork and complete re-plastering.
- Apply full wall and ceiling skims as necessary.
- Carry out finishing touches around door frames, windows, sockets, and pipework.
- Ensure surfaces are properly prepared to guarantee smooth and durable finishes.
- Mix and apply plaster using correct tools and techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area and protect residents' belongings and flooring.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and company standards.
- Record job details, materials used, and completion notes electronically or via job sheets.
- Operate professionally and courteously within residents' homes.
- Identify and report any additional repair requirements, safeguarding issues, or property concerns.
- Participate in an out-of-hours emergency rota as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience in domestic maintenance and repairs as a plasterer.
- Possession of a full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively manage workload.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with experience working inside occupied homes.
- Familiarity with health and safety guidelines and safe work practices.
- Competence in using handheld devices or job management systems for recording tasks.
- Willingness to engage in out-of-hours emergency duties.
Working Conditions
- Full-time permanent contract.
- Standard working hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm.
- Location: Cambridge area.
- Use of company van and fuel card provided.
