Plant Fitter

Job Opportunity

Due to ongoing expansion, we are seeking a skilled Plant Fitter to become part of our dynamic team located at the Port Kembla Asphalt Plant. This role requires flexibility to work varied shifts including nights and weekends and to travel among different asphalt plant locations throughout the New South Wales region to support operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate autonomously while collaborating with Asset and Production teams to prioritize maintenance tasks.
• Ensure the manufacturing plant adheres to relevant safety standards.
• Maintain equipment to optimal standards to support business objectives effectively.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance activities.
• Verify all necessary permits and safety documentation are in place prior to commencing work.
• Supervise contractors and labor personnel onsite.
• Conduct daily plant inspections and monitor equipment for defects.
• Participate in plant shutdown programs as required.

Candidate Requirements

• Trade qualification in fitting.
• Proven maintenance fitter experience within fixed plant environments.
• Strong expertise in welding and fabrication.
• Experience in replacing motors, gearboxes, and bearings.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Committed to maintaining safety standards consistently.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build and sustain positive working relations.
• Willingness to work across various shifts, including days and nights.
