Planning Engineer – Oil & Gas EPC Projects

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer specializing in Oil & Gas EPC projects to join our team in Qatar. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing comprehensive project schedules, monitoring ongoing progress, identifying potential risks, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. This role offers the opportunity to engage directly with project teams and contribute significantly to successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and continuously update project schedules specific to Oil & Gas EPC initiatives.
• Monitor project advancement and proactively identify schedule-related risks to mitigate delays.
• Generate detailed progress reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to keep stakeholders informed.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and site personnel to align planning activities.
• Track critical project milestones and ensure activities are completed within designated timelines.
• Conduct schedule analyses and propose recovery plans when deviations occur.
• Develop look-ahead plans that include resource allocation and loading.
• Participate actively in planning meetings and client progress review sessions.
• Ensure all planning processes comply with project guidelines and company standards.
• Utilize project planning software tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project for schedule development and tracking.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline is required.
• A minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience working as a Planning Engineer within Oil & Gas EPC project environments.
• Experience working in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region is strongly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of project planning methodologies, scheduling techniques, and progress monitoring.
• Proficient in using Primavera P6, with additional familiarity with MS Project considered advantageous.
• Thorough understanding of the EPC project lifecycle and related processes.
• Strong analytical skills aimed at effective problem-solving and decision-making.
• Excellent communication abilities and teamwork orientation to support multi-disciplinary collaboration.
• Capable of performing effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic project setting.
