Job description
Overview
Join the Water Network team at Mackay Regional Council as a Planning and Maintenance Officer on a temporary full-time contract through April 2027. This role is key in supporting the strategic coordination and execution of maintenance and renewal projects that ensure critical water infrastructure across the Mackay Region remains functional and efficient.
Key Duties
- Generate and organize corrective maintenance work orders effectively.
- Assist with the planning, scheduling, and reporting of both maintenance and capital projects.
- Support initiatives including water meter renewal and replacement programs.
- Maintain accurate asset and operational data in the Council's corporate systems.
- Prepare required reports and compile regulatory documentation.
- Review historical maintenance records to aid asset renewal planning.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to operational teams as needed.
- Ensure business documentation and records comply with Council standards.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Proven experience in administrative, planning, or maintenance support roles.
- Familiarity with corporate and administrative information systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with the capability to learn specialized software quickly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work independently and collaboratively.
- Certificate III in Business Administration is advantageous.
- Possession of a current Queensland "C" Class Driver Licence is desirable.
