Overview
Mackay Regional Council is looking for a dedicated and dependable Labourer (Level 3 Stream B) to join the Infrastructure & Operations team within Civil Operations. This role offers an opportunity to help maintain and enhance vital civil infrastructure while working within a supportive, safety-conscious environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general labouring duties related to civil construction and infrastructure upkeep.
- Assist with maintenance tasks involving roads, drainage systems, footpaths, and associated civil works.
- Safely and efficiently operate hand and power tools.
- Support operation of licensed plant and machinery as needed.
- Participate in traffic management and prepare work sites accordingly.
- Adhere rigorously to workplace health and safety protocols.
- Collaborate effectively as a team member to meet operational goals.
- Maintain clean, safe, and professional work environments at job sites.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in labouring, civil construction, maintenance, or related areas.
- Physical capability to carry out demanding tasks outdoors.
- Strong dedication to safety standards.
- Team player who follows instructions well.
- Good communication and social skills.
- Dependable, positive attitude, and strong commitment to work ethics.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Construction Industry White Card.
- Class C Driver License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Traffic Management certification.
- Relevant tickets or licenses for plant or machinery operation.
- Minimum MR Driver License.

- Base salary of $68,187.87 annually plus applicable allowances.
- Superannuation contributions up to 18% (subject to conditions).
- Option of 4 or 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading.
