Overview

Mackay Regional Council is looking for a dedicated and dependable Labourer (Level 3 Stream B) to join the Infrastructure & Operations team within Civil Operations. This role offers an opportunity to help maintain and enhance vital civil infrastructure while working within a supportive, safety-conscious environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general labouring duties related to civil construction and infrastructure upkeep.
  • Assist with maintenance tasks involving roads, drainage systems, footpaths, and associated civil works.
  • Safely and efficiently operate hand and power tools.
  • Support operation of licensed plant and machinery as needed.
  • Participate in traffic management and prepare work sites accordingly.
  • Adhere rigorously to workplace health and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team member to meet operational goals.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and professional work environments at job sites.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in labouring, civil construction, maintenance, or related areas.
  • Physical capability to carry out demanding tasks outdoors.
  • Strong dedication to safety standards.
  • Team player who follows instructions well.
  • Good communication and social skills.
  • Dependable, positive attitude, and strong commitment to work ethics.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Construction Industry White Card.
  • Class C Driver License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Traffic Management certification.
  • Relevant tickets or licenses for plant or machinery operation.
  • Minimum MR Driver License.

  • Base salary of $68,187.87 annually plus applicable allowances.
  • Superannuation contributions up to 18% (subject to conditions).
