Role Overview
Murphy is seeking a Planner to join our Ground Engineering and Piling team based at the JV office in Tilbury, contributing to the Lower Thames Crossing project. Our multidisciplinary engineering teams are committed to innovation, digital construction practices, and delivering efficient and sustainable engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with project teams to ensure alignment.
- Gather and distill project information into clear communication formats to define the work scope.
- Create resource-loaded project schedules and validate them against project requirements and expectations.
- Participate in risk management by contributing to the risk register and performing program risk assessments.
- Design visual aids to support planned construction methods.
- Manage project-related documentation meticulously and systematically.
- Advise teams on contractual issues related to project scheduling based on experience.
- Provide training to project teams on effective reading and use of project programmes.
- Establish and maintain Project Controls systems to monitor progress and anticipate challenges.
- Organise and manage multiple projects and submissions with attention to detail.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience on civil engineering or construction projects.
- Familiarity working within high voltage power, transmission, and distribution project environments.
- Proficient in planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta, TILOS, and QSRA.
- Practical experience employing various planning techniques for both tendering and contract execution phases.
- Clear understanding of the relationship between commercial, contractual matters, and the planning function.
- Knowledge of Project Controls and ability to develop clear and effective visual presentations.
