Role Purpose

The Piping and Layout Engineer will report to the Piping & Layout Lead and operate within the COMP3 project as part of the Fixed Facilities Engineering Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute tasks assigned within your scope while ensuring adherence to QA/QC and HSE standards.
• Support technology development and provide commercial assistance.
• Contribute to feasibility studies and bidding phases, including preparing bill of materials and proposing plot plan layouts.
• Assist leads in defining manpower hours and cost estimates.
• Provide piping and layout engineering support across varied projects during execution.
• Ensure fulfillment of project objectives and contractual quality standards.
• Analyze technical documents such as specifications, calculations, and drawings to determine scope and potential risks.
• Seek cost-effective solutions to enhance project savings.
• Estimate or validate quantity assessments performed by team members.
• Review all internal and subcontracted documentation including design reports, technical specifications, and drawings.
• Develop piping and layout methodologies and design premises, encompassing all necessary data and guidelines.
• Verify project technical data to ensure alignment of budget, resources, and planned outputs.
• Organize and oversee the work of the team under your responsibility.
• Plan and monitor resource mobilization schedules.
• Track and report progress against discipline activities, including men-hours spent and deliverables produced.
• Check input data and review all team-issued documents.
• Participate actively in internal reviews and cross-discipline coordination meetings.
• Provide technical assistance to project groups, procurement, subcontractors, and construction functions within the scope.
• Supervise preparation of specifications, requisitions, and evaluation of technical bids.
• Continuously inform the Piping and Layout Lead about any predicted technical, financial, or schedule risks.
• Contribute to departmental improvements by sharing lessons learned from projects.
• Engage in construction and startup phases, including test circuit verification and on-site engineering support.
• Assist with engineering modifications during construction and manage materials at the site.

Candidate Profile

• Master’s Degree in Engineering.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in piping and layout engineering.
• Fluency in English.
• Technical expertise in operations follow-up for offshore and onshore projects.
• Experience with EPC projects.
• Ability to perform design, verification, and study tasks as assigned by the Piping and Layout Lead.
• Collaborate effectively with project specialists, designers, and draftsmen.
• Coordinate technical activities across internal and external teams.
• Strong IT proficiency including Microsoft Project and the full Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel skills.
