Overview
As a Photo Specialist, you will create exceptional experiences for customers by delivering knowledgeable photo services, including digital passport photography and assistance with transactions such as FedEx, Western Union, and online order pickups. You will take charge of the photo department's inventory, ensuring appropriate supplies and product availability to meet customer demand. The role encompasses promoting photo products, supporting merchandising efforts, assisting customers at checkout, accurately handling cash transactions, and maintaining a tidy, safe, and welcoming environment while meeting business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and engage customers at the photo counter warmly, proactively offering help and identifying their needs to recommend personalized photo products and services.
- Take accountability for addressing customer questions and resolving concerns, ensuring a smooth and positive interaction.
- Exemplify and encourage customer-focused attitudes and behaviors across the team, such as courteous greetings, maintaining eye contact, and following through on service requests.
- Provide courteous and efficient service within the photo department, including digital passport photography and promotion of photo offerings.
- Suggest appropriate products, upgrades, and complementary items to fulfill customer needs and drive sales.
- Handle customer transactions precisely—processing purchases, returns, refunds, exchanges, and rain checks—while adhering strictly to cash handling protocols.
- Manage the photo department’s inventory, supplies, and organizational readiness by tracking stock levels, maintaining accurate records, and aligning supply with forecasted demand over a three-week horizon.
- Fulfill photo, online, and web order pickups accurately and promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Provide support for auxiliary services like FedEx and Western Union, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Maintain and operate photo equipment properly and use store technology effectively to troubleshoot and ensure quality outputs.
- Keep the photo department clean, organized, safe, well-merchandised, and contribute to the overall store’s appearance and operational standards.
- Assist in merchandising tasks across photo-related areas, including display upkeep, promotional setup, inventory tasks, and seasonal resets.
- Cross-train store team members in photo department functions to guarantee coverage and operational continuity when you are absent.
- Adhere to company policies, asset protection standards, and regulatory requirements to support a safe and compliant workplace.
- Collaborate positively with team members, maintain professional relationships, and undertake additional assignments needed to meet business goals.
Training and Development
- Participate in training sessions and complete e-learning programs assigned by management or corporate.
Qualifications
- Fluent in English reading, writing, and speaking (except locations where otherwise specified).
- Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Preferred experience includes at least six months in a retail environment and previous employment with Walgreens.
Additional Information
- Employment consideration is extended to qualified candidates with arrest or conviction records.
- The position offers hourly pay ranging between $16 and $18, with actual salary influenced by location, skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors.
