Position Overview

As a People Greeter at Walmart Canada in Bathurst, New Brunswick, you are a vital contributor to creating a warm and positive shopping atmosphere. Your role focuses on delivering excellent customer service and assisting with the operational activities on the sales floor, helping to foster customer confidence and loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer a welcoming and courteous experience by greeting every customer entering and leaving the store promptly and professionally to ensure a positive impression.
• Enhance store safety by tagging returned merchandise, monitoring large purchases like electronics, checking receipts when necessary, and promptly reporting any suspicious behavior to Management or Loss Prevention personnel.
• React calmly and politely to electronic article surveillance (EAS) alerts, identify reasons for alarm triggers, complete required documentation accurately, and notify management of any system malfunctions.
• Assist customers with shopping necessities such as providing carts, baskets, and store flyers; respond to inquiries; and collaborate with sales associates to help customers locate desired products and services.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean environment by consistently following company policies and procedures to prevent hazards.
• Be flexible with work schedules, including availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, to sustain smooth store operations and deliver excellent customer service.

Challenges to Expect

• Managing high workload volumes in a fast-paced setting, including maintaining efficiency during overnight hours by planning breaks and energy levels appropriately.
• Physical demands such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Performing repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products meticulously to uphold store standards.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $16.05 per hour.

Minimum Qualification

Candidates must be at least 16 years of age.
