About the Role

As a People Adviser, you will be integral to fostering a positive and consistent employee experience at AIA. Serving as a trusted contact for both employees and leadership, you will provide practical advice on people-related policies, procedures, and employment relations issues, ensuring outcomes are fair, lawful, and aligned with our values.

Within the People & Culture team, you will cultivate robust relationships throughout the organization, support leaders handling challenging personnel discussions, and play a role in initiatives designed to enhance employee satisfaction, operational efficiency, and overall organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer trusted guidance empowering employees and leaders to make well-informed HR decisions.
  • Take charge of employment relations concerning performance, conduct, and attendance matters, ensuring fair and compliant resolutions.
  • Efficiently handle Workday HR cases and transactions to create a seamless employee service experience.
  • Coach leaders on navigating sensitive conversations to increase their confidence and capabilities in managing people issues.
  • Detect risks, emerging trends, and areas for enhancement; escalate complex challenges while strengthening HR practices.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge bases, reports, and process documentation to ensure high operational standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience delivering HR advisory support, including policy interpretation and lifecycle management activities.
  • Solid understanding of New Zealand employment legislation and relations, with the ability to exercise sound judgement in delicate scenarios.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with employees, leadership, and HR colleagues.
  • A proactive mindset focused on problem-solving, continuous improvement, and excellence in service delivery.
  • Familiarity with HR platforms such as Workday and experience supporting HR reporting, auditing, or people metrics is desirable.
  • Qualifications in Human Resources or related fields and a willingness to deepen expertise in employment relations are advantageous.
