PED/PER Certification Manager (Remote)

About the Role

Join BSI to contribute to meaningful change for individuals and the environment by managing and expanding activities related to the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU (PED) and Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations (PESR) SI 2016 plus amendments. This position reports to the Certification Team Manager and is open for remote candidates based in the UK or Europe.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and future strategy concerning PED and PESR business services.
• Offer technical guidance on a diverse range of pressure equipment supporting inspection and certification under PED/PESR.
• Conduct audits following EN ISO/IEC 17021-1 and EN ISO/IEC 17065 standards and perform inspections according to EN ISO 17020 Type A Inspection Body accreditation.
• Project manage new service offerings to fulfill customer needs, assessing them via commercial, technical, and strategic perspectives.
• Collaborate with various BSI departments to exploit all PED/PESR business opportunities.
• Execute on-site PED/PESR compliance audits independently.
• Assist in overseeing BSI’s inspection operations and support staff training initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

• A university degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification along with a minimum of five years in a senior technical or management capacity within pressure-related industries, or equivalent experience as assessed by the PED Technical Manager.
• Comprehensive expertise in design, manufacturing codes, materials, welding, inspection methods including NDT, pressure testing, and certification concerning pressure vessels, piping, safety and pressure accessories, and their assemblies.
• A strong understanding of commercial and business operations in pressure equipment manufacturing and inspection sectors.
• In-depth technical knowledge of PED/PESR, relevant pressure equipment codes, standards, and affected industries.
• Excellent communication abilities coupled with skills in training and presenting complex technical subjects effectively.

Additional Information

• Salary ranges vary by country and location. For Ireland, the salary offers between €56,000 and €65,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Other locations have their specific ranges.
