Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned PCB Design Engineer with 3 to 5 years of direct experience in PCB design and layout to join our Pune-based full-time team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop multilayer printed circuit boards (PCBs) following schematics and technical specifications.
- Utilize Mentor Xpedition and OrCAD tools to create and update PCB layouts.
- Perform tasks including component positioning, routing, setting up layer stack-ups, conducting design rule checks (DRC), and optimizing layouts.
- Collaborate closely with hardware, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to verify design viability.
- Prepare, update, and manage PCB design documents, fabrication blueprints, and manufacturing deliverables such as Gerber, ODB++, drill files, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Conduct design evaluations and troubleshoot PCB layout-related challenges.
- Ensure adherence to Design for Manufacturability/Design for Assembly (DFM/DFA) and electromagnetic interference/electromagnetic compatibility (EMI/EMC) standards.
- Support prototype creation, testing, debugging, and iterative design improvements.
- Analyze and address manufacturing and assembly issues related to PCB layouts.
- Engage in design verification activities and provide technical assistance throughout product development phases.
Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering, or closely related fields.
- Three to five years of hands-on experience in PCB design and layout.
- Expertise with Mentor Xpedition is mandatory.
- Proficiency with OrCAD Capture and OrCAD PCB Designer tools.
- Solid understanding of PCB design principles including multilayer board layout techniques.
- Competence in component placement, routing, constraint implementation, and design rule verification.
- Familiarity with PCB manufacturing techniques and DFM/DFA best practices.
- Knowledge of high-speed PCB design considerations such as signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC.
Additional Advantageous Skills
- Experience using Altium Designer software.
- Exposure to high-speed interface standards like DDR, PCI Express, USB, Ethernet, and LVDS.
- Understanding of impedance-controlled routing and differential pair routing strategies.
- Familiarity with signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis tools.
- Experience with hardware bring-up, prototype evaluation, and troubleshooting.

- Experience in structured product development settings is desirable.
