About the Role

The Payroll Specialist position plays an essential role in processing employee compensation accurately and promptly, ensuring transparency and efficiency within the company. This role demands confidentiality, adherence to compliance standards, and active collaboration with stakeholders to address payroll-related queries.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute payroll transactions including wage calculation, deductions, and adjustments according to company-specified schedules.
- Ensure the accuracy of timekeeping records and accompanying documentation by verifying compliance with organizational policies.
- Provide clear and prompt responses to employee inquiries related to compensation, deductions, and related payroll issues.
- Maintain comprehensive payroll records consistent with data privacy laws and record retention policies.
- Review payroll reports meticulously to detect and solve any discrepancies prior to final approvals.
- Utilize knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations to ensure compliance and reduce organizational risk.
- Support internal and external payroll audits by preparing documentation and addressing information requests effectively.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or an equivalent field or practical experience is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in payroll processing, payroll administration, or a similar role is required.
- Preferred certifications include Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
