About the Role
Join a prominent organisation that supports a substantial Australian and New Zealand workforce by leveraging your payroll expertise. This role is ideal for a skilled Payroll Officer experienced in managing complex payroll operations, knowledgeable in relevant legislation, and dedicated to providing accurate and compliant payroll services that focus on customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly and fortnightly payrolls for Australian and New Zealand employees within allotted timelines and service level requirements.
- Analyse payroll verification reports, identify discrepancies, and resolve inconsistencies efficiently.
- Apply multiple Awards and Enterprise Agreements correctly to ensure accurate employee payments and proper payroll system configurations.
- Maintain employee records using SAP, ensuring all personnel updates are authorised appropriately.
- Comply with organisational policies, payroll procedures, and legislative requirements consistently.
- Prepare and submit Single Touch Payroll (STP) files, Payday Filing, and fulfill other statutory reporting duties.
- Complete monthly payroll reconciliation and closing processes.
- Support payroll accuracy for both waged and salaried workforces.
- Offer professional and timely payroll assistance to internal and external stakeholders, promptly addressing payroll enquiries.
- Collaborate with site payroll teams by guiding payroll transactions, wage interpretations, pay rates, and Enterprise Agreement details.
- Generate detailed payroll reports and analysis to aid business decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll operations through automation, enhancing efficiency and error reduction.
- Contribute expertise as a Subject Matter Expert in payroll-related projects.
- Conduct testing and validation for legislative updates, Enterprise Agreement changes, and payroll system improvements.
Candidate Profile
- Experience handling payroll services within medium to large organisations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of payroll legislation across Australia and New Zealand.
- Proven ability to process payrolls for both countries effectively.
- Strong background in interpreting and administering multiple Enterprise Agreements and Awards.
- Operational familiarity with KRONOS and SAP HR & Payroll systems is preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail and precision.
- Effective time management and prioritisation capabilities.
- High communication skills and proven stakeholder management success.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environments.
