Role Overview
We are seeking a Technical Compliance Analyst to join our Technical Services team. This dynamic position focuses on ensuring that our flagship Class software complies with superannuation and tax regulations along with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requirements. The role involves close collaboration with both internal teams and external parties to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and regulatory lodgements.
Key Responsibilities
- Track, interpret, and implement legislative and regulatory changes for software compliance within deadlines.
- Maintain compliance schedules and communicate updates effectively throughout the business.
- Contribute to product lifecycle activities including defining requirements, workflow designs, and compliance approval prior to releases.
- Investigate and solve advanced Level 2 and 3 support issues acting as a client subject matter expert.
- Conduct comprehensive legal and tax compliance research across tax, superannuation, and corporate sectors.
- Develop and deliver compliance training sessions, webinars, and maintain user guides and knowledge repositories.
- Manage SuperStream regulatory processes, resolve escalations, and assure compliance.
- Perform quality assurance and analysis of tax statement automation and coordinate with fund managers.
- Engage in ad-hoc projects involving data analysis, testing, and automation using SQL and APIs.
- Participate in industry research, contributing to benchmarking reports and submissions to regulatory bodies.
Candidate Requirements
- Completed tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business, Commerce, Finance, Information Systems, or Law.
- At least three years of professional experience in CA/CPA firms, fund administration, or equivalent roles.
- Exceptional organizational ability with keen attention to detail and skillful management of conflicting priorities.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Capacity to work independently, exercise sound judgment under pressure, and a background or strong interest in legal, tax, and compliance research is preferred.
- Knowledge of Australian taxation, trust law, superannuation, and corporate legislation (training will be provided).
- Proficiency in SQL and API tools like Postman for data extraction and automation processes.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Atlassian products such as Jira and Confluence.
- Professional certifications (CPA, CA, SSA, Tax Agent accreditation) are advantageous but not mandatory.
