Role Overview
As a Payroll Administrator, you will oversee comprehensive payroll management for a diverse range of clients across various sectors. Your responsibilities include ensuring accurate payroll processing consistent with the latest legislation while fostering strong relationships with clients and colleagues. Initially, the position is office-based, moving to a hybrid model after probation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage payroll cycles on weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly, and monthly schedules
- Handle complete payroll processes for multiple client accounts
- Calculate statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, SPP, and SAP
- Process employee lifecycle events, including onboarding, departures, and updates
- Submit Real Time Information (RTI) reports to HMRC
- Administer pension contributions and fulfillment of auto-enrollment duties
- Address payroll-related inquiries from clients and employees
- Maintain precise, confidential payroll records
- Stay informed about current payroll legislation and compliance standards
- Assist the broader team with payroll support and client services
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience with end-to-end payroll processing
- Background working in payroll bureaus, accountancy firms, or managing multiple payrolls is advantageous
- Comprehensive understanding of payroll legislation and HMRC protocols
- Excellent organizational skills with sharp attention to detail
- Ability to juggle multiple deadlines efficiently
- Strong interpersonal and client communication abilities
- Proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous professional development
- Familiarity with payroll software tools
