Venture Capital Director

Overview

A leading deep technology investment platform is seeking a seasoned Venture Capital Director to join its expanding team in Saudi Arabia. The firm is focused on global investments in pioneering sectors such as water, sustainability, advanced materials, mining technology, advanced manufacturing, and AI hardware.

Primary Responsibilities

• Identify and assess venture capital opportunities within deep technology industries.
• Lead comprehensive commercial, strategic, financial, and technical due diligence processes.
• Manage the structuring, negotiation, and finalization of investment deals from start to finish.
• Develop and nurture relationships with entrepreneurs, venture capital entities, accelerators, academic institutions, and ecosystem collaborators.
• Deliver investment proposals to the firm's internal committees and senior leadership.
• Provide strategic guidance, governance support, and value enhancement initiatives to portfolio companies.
• Keep abreast of market developments, breakthroughs in technology, and investment trends in priority sectors.
• Participate in portfolio management and decisions on follow-up investments.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Over 10 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 3-4 years specifically in deep technology venture capital investing.
• Proven track record in sourcing, leading, negotiating, and closing investment deals.
• Familiarity with sectors such as advanced materials, sustainability, water technologies, industrial tech, AI hardware, advanced manufacturing, mining technologies, robotics, or semiconductors.
• Experience obtained in venture capital, corporate venture capital, technology investment platforms, innovation funds, or comparable settings.
• Strong skills in financial modeling, business valuation, due diligence, and presenting to investment committees.
• Capability to interact confidently with founders, executive teams, investors, and senior decision-makers.
• International investment experience spanning regions like North America, Europe, Asia, or the Middle East is a plus.
• Prior involvement in deep-tech fund investing, technology transfer initiatives, venture creation, or startup ecosystems is advantageous.
