Role Summary and Responsibilities
- Craft and present pastries, desserts, baked goods, and confections meeting the highest quality and presentation benchmarks.
- Ensure consistent production of pastry items aligned strictly with menu requirements and presentation guidelines.
- Prepare and organise daily mise en place to facilitate smooth kitchen operations.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all pastry menus including seasonal and special event offerings.
- Oversee stock levels, assist with inventory ordering, and implement stock rotation processes.
- Reduce food waste and utilize ingredients efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with the kitchen team to surpass guest expectations continually.
- Mentor and support junior kitchen staff members when necessary.
- Comply fully with all food safety standards, HACCP protocols, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations.
- Maintain pastry equipment in proper condition and promptly report maintenance concerns.
Candidate Requirements and Skills
- Possess full chef qualifications or actively pursuing recognised culinary certifications.
- Have at least one year of professional kitchen experience, preferably at Pastry Chef de Partie level within a pastry section.
- Demonstrate solid expertise in pastry preparation, baking techniques, and dessert presentation.
- Understand Food Hygiene and HACCP principles thoroughly.
- Communicate fluently in both written and spoken English.
- Perform efficiently under pressure in dynamic, fast-moving kitchen settings.
- Show excellent organisational capabilities and a strong team-oriented mindset.
- Exhibit flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive attitude in all tasks.
- Show a passionate commitment to food, baking, and culinary craft.
