Painter & Decorator - Maintenance Team

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Painter & Decorator to become a vital part of our Maintenance Team at Hodson Bay Hotel. This role is essential for maintaining the property to a high standard, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for our guests and staff.

Working Hours

• Full-time position, Monday through Friday
• Workdays off on weekends
• Shift timing: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Perform interior and exterior painting and decorating duties across the entire property
• Prepare surfaces by sanding, filling, priming, and cleaning before painting
• Apply a variety of finishes including paint, varnish, and wallpaper using appropriate tools and techniques
• Carry out minor repairs on walls, ceilings, woodwork, and fixtures prior to painting or decorating
• Conduct regular inspections to identify areas needing repair or redecoration
• Maintain tidy and safe work areas, tools, and materials
• Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines when handling equipment, ladders, and materials
• Collaborate with the broader maintenance team on general upkeep and special projects
• Support additional maintenance tasks as needed

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in painting and decorating or general maintenance work
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality finishes
• Capability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong health and safety awareness
• Reliable, organized, and proactive in work approach
• Flexibility to operate across multiple properties within the Hodson Bay hotel group in the Athlone region
