Overview
Located in Beech, Stoke-on-Trent, this full-time, permanent Parts Handler role offers an annual salary between £30,000 and £35,000 based on experience. Working Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 5:45 PM, the position supports an HGV workshop by ensuring that technicians have prompt access to the right components. The role requires excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail, managing stock across various truck manufacturers to help minimise vehicle downtime and maintain customer fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, verify, and properly store incoming HGV parts and components.
- Identify parts accurately for multiple HGV makes and models.
- Place orders with suppliers and track deliveries to ensure timely availability.
- Collaborate closely with technicians and the Workshop Manager to meet workshop requirements.
- Distribute parts to technicians while maintaining precise stock movement records.
- Conduct regular stock audits and keep comprehensive inventory documentation.
- Handle returns of incorrect, damaged, or surplus items efficiently.
- Quickly source required parts to reduce workshop delays and vehicle downtime.
- Establish and sustain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing and delivery schedules where applicable.
- Process warranty claims and core returns accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the parts department to comply with health and safety standards.
- Assist in workshop administrative duties and ensure documentation is up-to-date.
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies consistently.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in HGV, commercial vehicle, automotive, or parts environments.
- Solid knowledge of HGV components and vehicle systems.
- Proficiency in identifying and sourcing parts from diverse manufacturers.
- Strong computer and IT literacy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
- Proactive, resourceful problem-solving attitude.
- Ability to perform efficiently in a busy workshop setting.
