Role Overview
The Partner Manager for Germany will manage a portfolio of strategic partnerships aimed at enhancing seller engagement, partner performance, and further establishing eBay within the German ecommerce ecosystem. This role intersects commercial strategy, business development, and platform integration, working closely with external partners as well as internal teams such as product, marketing, analytics, legal, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute partnership strategies for a key set of partners in Germany to drive gross merchandise volume (GMV), acquire new sellers, and increase adoption of partner-enabled and eBay-integrated features.
- Create and lead collaborative business plans involving commercial and incentive frameworks, co-marketing campaigns, and growth goals aligned with corporate priorities.
- Initiate and support demand-generation programs to convert partnerships into tangible seller growth, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
- Foster productive relationships with partner business, product, and technical teams to shape product roadmaps, reinforce eBay integrations, and advocate for API improvements that enhance seller experience.
- Lead partner negotiations and oversee end-to-end project delivery, coordinating with multiple internal departments including legal and analytics.
- Analyze partner performance data, market trends, and the German ecommerce landscape to identify opportunities, overcome challenges, and refine partnership strategies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience managing and expanding strategic partnerships or business development relations with measurable success in launching and growing collaborations.
- Knowledge of API partnerships and third-party software integrations, working with product and technical teams to influence product and integration roadmaps.
- Strong commercial acumen demonstrated through crafting joint business plans, incentive programs, co-marketing strategies, and go-to-market initiatives.
- Familiarity with the German ecommerce market and partner ecosystem, including key software and service providers; background in marketplaces, ecommerce, SaaS, internet services, retail technology, or seller tools is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, leveraging data to guide decisions and uncover growth opportunities.
- Exceptional partner management, communication, and presentation skills with a track record of effective collaboration across product, marketing, legal, and analytics teams.
- Fluency in German and English with proficiency in tools like Google Slides, Docs, Sheets, and Microsoft Excel. A Master's degree or equivalent professional experience in Business Administration is preferred.
