Position Overview

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts in Fujairah is seeking a knowledgeable Painter/Polisher to handle the application of paints, stains, and finishes across walls, ceilings, and furniture. The role involves preparing surfaces by applying primers or sealers, removing old finishes through various methods such as sanding and abrasive blasting, and ensuring surface protection during painting. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining tools, coordinating paint color modifications with vendors, and maintaining workplace cleanliness and safety.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Use brushes, spray guns, or rollers to apply paint, stain, and finishes.
• Prepare surfaces by priming or sealing to ensure proper finish adherence.
• Remove old paint or finishes using stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or abrasive blasting.
• Protect surfaces appropriately during painting and display necessary signage.
• Clean and store painting equipment properly after use.
• Collaborate with vendors to adjust paint, stain, or varnish colors as needed.
• Adhere to all company and safety policies, report maintenance challenges and safety hazards promptly.
• Maintain professional appearance and uphold confidentiality and company asset protection.
• Interact professionally with guests, catering to their needs and ensuring positive service experiences.
• Execute physical tasks including reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, lifting objects up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and standing or walking for prolonged periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required Qualifications

• Education from a Technical, Trade, or Vocational school.
• A minimum of one year of related professional experience within painting or finishing trades.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific licenses or certifications needed.
