Painter

Position Overview

This role involves applying paint, stain, and other finishing products to various surfaces such as walls, ceilings, and furniture using brushes, spray guns, or rollers. Preparation of surfaces includes applying primers or sealers and removing old finishes through techniques including sanding, stripping, wire brushing, or abrasive blasting. Protective coverings must be placed to shield areas during painting, and appropriate signage must be displayed.

Key Duties

• Apply different coatings to surfaces with proper tools.
• Prepare new and existing surfaces by primer application or removing old finishes.
• Protect surrounding areas with suitable materials and post relevant paint signs.
• Maintain cleanliness by storing tools and equipment correctly after use.
• Collaborate with vendors to adjust paint, stain, or varnish colors as required.
• Observe all company safety, security policies, and training requirements; report hazards or incidents promptly.
• Maintain professional appearance, confidentiality, and safeguard company assets.
• Greet and assist guests, anticipate and meet their service needs, and communicate clearly and professionally.
• Support team goals and quality standards adherence.
• Perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, lifting objects up to 50 pounds, and standing or walking for extended periods.
• Complete additional reasonable tasks assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Technical, trade, or vocational school diploma is preferred.
• Minimum of one year’s experience in a related painting or finishing role.
• No supervisory experience necessary.
• No specific licenses or certifications required.
