Electrical Technician

Position Summary

The Electrical Technician is responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures using various hand and power tools. Tasks include inspecting and diagnosing malfunctions in electrical systems and components, connecting wiring to circuit breakers and transformers, and testing batteries in generators and emergency lighting. The technician will plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring and equipment in accordance with job specifications, National Electric Code standards, and local regulations. Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics is essential for performing repair requests and preventative maintenance effectively.

Maintaining inventory and requisitioning parts and supplies are crucial for ongoing maintenance tasks. Compliance with all company safety and security policies is mandatory, including reporting hazards, completing safety training, and properly storing flammable materials. The role also demands maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information and safeguarding company assets.

The technician will embrace Marriott's hospitality standards by warmly welcoming guests, anticipating and addressing their service needs, and assisting guests with disabilities. Developing positive relationships with coworkers, communicating professionally and clearly, and responding appropriately to coworkers' concerns are vital workplace expectations.

Physical Requirements

The position requires the ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and position objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are necessary to manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights.

Qualifications

• Education from a technical, trade, or vocational school.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
