About the Role and Location

The Amsterdam Marriott Hotel, ideally situated near iconic landmarks including the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, is a prestigious 396-room property known for blending a prime location with modern interiors. This hotel offers upscale dining experiences such as Midtown Grill and Bar TWLV alongside 11 versatile event spaces. The Steward will be pivotal in maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of kitchen and storage areas to ensure excellent guest service.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle and operate cleaning machinery including dishwashers, pot scrubbers, and trash compactors.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, storerooms, tables, utensils, knives, and related equipment thoroughly.
• Manage deliveries by properly storing and rotating perishable goods to maintain freshness.
• Utilize chemicals correctly in three-compartment sinks to wash dishes, including detergent, rinse, and sanitizers.
• Inspect cleaned kitchenware, rewash items as needed and prepare silverware by sorting, soaking, and washing.
• Maintain waste disposal routines by emptying trashcans, managing recyclables, and cleaning dumpster areas.
• Perform routine cleaning and mopping of all assigned departmental areas.
• Follow company policies related to safety, report maintenance needs or hazards promptly, and complete required safety training.
• Maintain clear and professional communication while fostering positive teamwork to meet shared goals.
• Physically manage object handling up to 50 pounds, and maintain flexibility through standing, walking, bending, and stooping as needed.
• Fulfill additional duties as directed by supervisors.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Minimum of one year experience in a stewarding role.
• Proficient communication skills in English.
