About the Role

Join Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara, a distinguished luxury hotel brand inspired by Thai heritage and renowned worldwide for authentic hospitality. As a Painter, you will be pivotal in preserving the hotel’s visual appeal by executing painting, surface preparation, and maintenance tasks that meet exacting quality and safety standards. Your work will ensure guests enjoy an inviting environment with minimal disturbance to their experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute painting, repainting, touch-ups, and decorative finishes across various hotel spaces including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house zones, and offices.
  • Prepare all surfaces effectively by cleaning, sanding, filling, and repairing defects prior to painting applications.
  • Use suitable paints, coatings, and finishing materials, selecting the correct types for each job.
  • Maintain painting tools and equipment, ensuring they are properly cleaned, stored, and in good working order.
  • Uphold cleanliness, safety, and organization in work areas during and after painting activities.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations while performing duties.
  • Address maintenance and painting requests promptly and report significant surface damages to the Engineering Supervisor.
  • Reduce impacts on guests by planning and carefully executing work in occupied areas.
  • Assist with general engineering and maintenance tasks as needed.

Candidate Requirements

  • Preferred possession of a Certificate or Diploma in Painting, Building Maintenance, Construction, or similar disciplines.
  • At least one year’s experience as a painter, ideally within hotel, resort, commercial, or facility management settings.
  • Strong expertise in painting methods, surface preparation, and finishing techniques.
  • Familiarity with different paints, coatings, and painting instruments.
  • Basic knowledge of general building repairs and maintenance.
  • Commitment to following health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
  • High attention to detail ensuring quality finishes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks at heights and in various conditions.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays as necessary.
