Role Overview

The Kitchen Equipment Technician plays a crucial role in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing all kitchen and heavy catering equipment within the resort's food and beverage departments. Daily duties involve diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, executing troubleshooting procedures, conducting scheduled preventive maintenance, and ensuring all equipment functions safely and optimally. The technician collaborates closely with culinary and engineering teams, maintains detailed maintenance records, and aids compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards. This is a full-time position located on-site at the resort.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Proven expertise in equipment maintenance and preventive upkeep of kitchen and heavy catering machinery.
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational problems within kitchen systems.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating tasks among kitchen staff, engineering personnel, and external vendors.
• Familiarity with safety regulations, basic electrical and mechanical concepts, and ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Formal technical education such as certification, diploma, or training in engineering, mechanical, or electrical disciplines is advantageous.
• Previous experience in a similar kitchen equipment technician role in hospitality environments like hotels, resorts, or commercial kitchens is preferred.
• Capability to work in shifts, handle urgent repairs, and safely manage physically intensive tasks.
• Fluency in English is necessary; knowledge of other widely spoken languages in Dubai is a plus.
