Painter & Decorator - Maintenance Team

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to become a vital member of our Maintenance Team, responsible for upholding the property's appearance and safety to provide a welcoming atmosphere for both guests and employees.

Working Hours

• Full-time position: Monday through Friday, with weekends off
• Daily shift from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Key Responsibilities

• Perform internal and external painting and decorating tasks throughout the hotel premises
• Prepare surfaces adequately by sanding, filling, priming, and cleaning to ensure quality finishes
• Apply various coatings including paint, varnish, and wallpaper with suitable materials and tools
• Carry out minor repairs on walls, ceilings, woodwork, and fixtures prior to painting or decorating
• Regularly inspect areas to identify maintenance or redecoration needs
• Ensure tools, materials, and working areas are maintained clean and safe
• Adhere strictly to all health and safety guidelines when using equipment such as ladders and materials
• Collaborate closely with the maintenance team on overall upkeep and project tasks
• Support additional maintenance activities as necessary

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience in painting and decorating or in general maintenance work
• Strong attention to detail with commitment to high-quality workmanship
• Capable of working independently as well as part of a team environment
• Good understanding and practice of health and safety standards
• Dependable, well-organized, and proactive work approach
• Flexibility to operate across several properties within the hotel group located in the Athlone area
