About the Role
The Hodson Bay Hotel is seeking a Duty Manager to join their dynamic Management Team. This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and exceptional customer service. The role is designed to accelerate your career, providing management experience within one of Ireland's premier hotel groups, supported by comprehensive training and close collaboration with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute all managerial tasks according to established standards.
- Assume full responsibility for management shifts, ensuring smooth operations.
- Supervise the daily functioning of all hotel departments.
- Support the administration of hotel events including functions and banquets.
- Address day-to-day inquiries, complaints, and challenges within the hotel.
- Maintain exemplary levels of customer service at all times.
- Contribute to the employee training process as needed.
- Engage proactively with wedding inquiries, ensuring accurate booking entries.
- Keep abreast of updates and changes in hotel event bookings.
- Work closely with the General Manager and Conference & Banqueting Manager to anticipate weekly business and prepare accordingly.
- Coordinate with Conference & Banqueting Manager regarding weekly events.
- Participate in weekly departmental management meetings.
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety regulations for staff, guests, and visitors on hotel premises.
Qualifications and Experience
- Management experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Prior background in Conference & Banqueting or Food & Beverage is preferred.
- A tertiary qualification in hospitality or related disciplines is desirable.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
