Job description
Job Overview
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others and eager to contribute positively by providing exceptional service, ensuring customers find the exact products they need for their projects. If you enjoy learning and growing professionally, join our team as an Order Picker.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and prioritize pick lists that specify the products required for each order, ensuring timely completion.
- Collect merchandise throughout the store accurately and efficiently to fulfill orders.
- Securely pack orders to prevent damages during transit and label them correctly according to guidelines.
- Place completed orders in designated holding areas until pickup or shipment.
- Assist with basic customer transactions at the Service Desk, including sales, returns, and answering order-related calls.
- Load delivery vehicles and assist with curbside delivery orders while adhering to safety protocols.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to all safety and loss prevention regulations and procedures.
- Safely move freight from staging locations to overhead storage or vice versa, using appropriate equipment.

- Strong customer service focus, following the Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking (GET) model.
- Detail-oriented approach with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Tasks involve walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items.
- Occasional lifting and handling of heavy or bulky items independently.
- Ability to climb ladders up to 12 to 16 feet to obtain or stock merchandise.
- Work shifts may include overnight, evening, and weekend hours, with a flexible schedule.
- Environment includes warehouse settings which may be dusty and noisy, exposure to gas fumes from forklifts, and drafty areas due to frequently open doors.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Experience in retail or distribution for one to two years is considered beneficial.
- Experience or knowledge in operating reach trucks and order picker machines is an asset.
Additional Information
- Reporting line: will report to the Service Desk Department Supervisor.
- No travel requirements involved.
