Job Overview
The Operations Duty Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing daily airport activities encompassing airside, landside, and terminal zones during their assigned shifts. This role ensures the highest levels of safety, security, operational continuity, and customer service. The incumbent acts as the principal authority on duty and handles escalation of any incidents, irregularities, or emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate terminal, landside, and airside operations throughout the shift period.
- Guarantee adherence to operational protocols, safety guidelines, and service quality standards.
- Serve as the chief contact point for all airport stakeholders while on duty.
- Address and resolve operational disruptions, incidents, or emergencies promptly, escalating as needed.
- Perform regular inspections of terminals, ramps, aprons, and landside areas to detect hazards or issues.
- Manage resources and operational responses during flight delays, diversions, or cancellations.
- Monitor airport systems to ensure consistent operational functions.
- Lead and document shift handovers, capturing essential operational challenges and decisions made.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive shift reports for senior management review.
- Support and enforce the airport's safety and security management frameworks.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Airport Management, Aviation, or a related discipline preferred; candidates with a Diploma in Aviation Operations and significant experience may also be considered.
- Certification in Airport Duty Management or Operations is mandatory.
- A minimum of five years’ involvement in airport operational roles, including at least one year in a supervisory or duty management capacity.
- Fluency in Arabic and professional-level proficiency in English are required.
- Technical competencies include expertise with AODB (Airport Operational Database), FIDS (Flight Information Display System), RMS (Resource Management System), and other relevant airport operational platforms.
- Knowledge of ICAO, IATA, and local regulatory frameworks such as GACA.
- Deep understanding of airport processes, emergency preparedness, customer service excellence, and safety regulations in airside and terminal zones.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and incident reporting applications.
