Offensive Security Consultant - Google Cloud, Mandiant Consulting

About the Role

Join Mandiant's offensive security consulting team, part of Google Cloud, to conduct Red and Purple Team assessments. These services involve penetrating client environments to identify security weaknesses, validate defenses, and simulate sophisticated cyber attacks akin to those executed by real-world threat actors. As an expert consultant, you'll perform all phases of offensive security engagements, adapting to diverse technologies including on-prem networks, cloud infrastructures, and zero-trust architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive adversarial simulations such as Red and Purple Team operations targeting customer organizations, including assessments of external penetration, web, mobile, and wireless application security.
• Innovate security testing capabilities by developing tools, researching offensive tactics, integrating threat intelligence, and sharing knowledge internally.
• Prepare detailed and clear reports and presentations tailored to both technical teams and executive leadership, serving as a trusted consultant to stakeholders.
• Participate in scoping engagements, lead project teams through all phases from initiation to remediation, and provide mentorship to junior team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum three years of practical experience in offensive security or red teaming encompassing network, web application, mobile platforms, cloud environments, social engineering, scripting, or tool development.
• Preferred certifications include OSCE, OSEP, OSEE, OSCP, CISSP, CISA, or relevant SANS courses.
• Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, C#, C/C++, Rust, or Nim, especially relevant to security tool creation.
• Exceptional communication skills enabling effective transfer of technical information to diverse audiences via reports and presentations.
