Night Shift Security Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Security Officer for the night shift located in Leixlip, County Kildare. The position offers €15.41 per hour plus a €20 night shift and Sunday allowance. This role is integral to maintaining safety and security on client premises and requires vigilance, integrity, and helpfulness.

Responsibilities

• Complete all required training relevant to the assigned site thoroughly and promptly.
• Execute all job duties as outlined in the site's Assignment Instructions (AI’s) with precision.
• Regularly review and refer to Assignment Instructions, proposing improvements to enhance service quality.
• Identify and promptly report any health and safety hazards present on site.
• Remain alert to any potential security threats or environmental changes and respond appropriately to minimize risks.
• Use judgment and initiative to involve colleagues immediately if situations appear threatening.
• Document detailed and accurate incident records as soon as possible following events for reporting purposes.
• Maintain correct uniform wear, ensuring it is clean and pressed, along with high personal grooming and hygiene standards.
• Exhibit courteous, interested, and professional behavior towards team members, clients’ staff, and the public.
• Act as the initial security contact point for employees, visitors, and temporary workers.
• Prepare and evaluate Daily Activity Reports (DAR) and incident documentation.
• Monitor physical security components including access control, alarm systems, and video surveillance.
• Coordinate and dispatch responses to security incidents using multiple communication methods such as radio, telephone, email, and SMS.
• Provide continuous 24/7 monitoring of client sites and respond to security concerns promptly.
• Gather, evaluate, and distribute information received from security personnel efficiently.
• Escalate urgent issues to site management with clarity.
• Communicate both verbally and in writing in a customer-focused, clear, concise, and timely manner.
• Safeguard all client assets against loss or damage.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Fluency in English with excellent written communication and attention to detail.
• Strong computer proficiency.
• Previous security experience is desirable.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication abilities.
• Flexibility in working hours, including the ability to work night shifts.
• Possession of a valid PSA Licence (Number: 00352).
• Completed Manual Handling certification.
• Full driving license is mandatory; own transportation preferred but not essential.
