About the Role and Company
Are you someone energized by the night hours, who enjoys connecting with people and being a dependable presence? ibis Wellington is seeking a dedicated Night Auditor to join their Front Office team on a full-time permanent basis. Situated in central Wellington, the hotel receives guests from across New Zealand and internationally, providing a lively and dynamic workplace where every shift brings new challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet late-arriving guests warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout the night.
- Manage guest check-ins and check-outs with professionalism and efficiency.
- Conduct night audit processes, ensuring daily transaction balances are correct.
- Prepare financial and operational reports maintaining accuracy.
- Respond promptly and thoughtfully to guest inquiries and resolve any issues that arise during the night.
- Ensure safety, security, and a welcoming atmosphere at all times overnight.
- Assist the broader Front Office team and support overall hotel operations.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Excellent communication abilities and a strong focus on customer service.
- High attention to detail to ensure precision in daily audits and reporting.
- Capability to work autonomously, making sound decisions under pressure.
- Positive and proactive attitude with eagerness to learn and grow.
- Prior experience in hospitality, front desk, reservations, or guest-facing roles is advantageous.
- Knowledge of hotel management systems such as Opera Cloud is a plus but not mandatory.
- Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.
Qualifications and Additional Requirements
- Ability to take initiative and remain composed under pressure.
- Availability to work overnight shifts starting from 11:00 PM on a rotating schedule including weekends and public holidays.
- Holding a Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ).
- Possession of a current Duty Manager Certificate or eligibility to obtain one (which requires an LCQ plus 3 months supervisory experience in a licensed venue in New Zealand).
- Experience in supervisory roles within Front Office operations is desired.
- Competent with Microsoft Excel and preferably Opera Cloud PMS.
- Current First Aid Certificate is beneficial.
- Possession of a full, clean New Zealand driver's license.
- Must be a New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid work visa (visa sponsorship is not provided).
