About The Role
Based in Otahuhu, Auckland, this full-time permanent role as National Demand Planning Manager requires leading the demand planning function while driving commercial alignment across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain. You will be responsible for owning the monthly Demand Review meetings, challenging commercial biases, and ensuring plans are grounded in strong, data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly demand planning cycle to deliver precise sales forecasts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to synchronize business objectives and planning needs.
- Generate insights and develop scenario models to support strategic decision-making.
- Enhance forecast accuracy and optimize inventory performance.
- Manage and upgrade planning systems and tools continuously.
- Support optimization of product range and SKU management.
Team Leadership
Directly manage and mentor a Demand Planner, boosting a culture of continuous improvement and capability development within the team.
Scope
Responsible for demand planning across New Zealand and export markets, focusing on an 18-month planning horizon. Leverage expertise in the NZ FMCG market to elevate S&OP maturity and reduce forecast bias.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive senior-level experience in demand planning and forecasting within the New Zealand FMCG sector, with knowledge of local market and customer dynamics.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, confident in influencing senior leaders and challenging commercial assumptions.
- Experience with trade promotion systems is beneficial.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively.
- Strong analytical expertise with advanced skills in Power BI, Excel, and enterprise forecasting software.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in supply chain, business, economics, or related disciplines.
