MYP Coordinator

About the Role

Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar, an IB World School offering the Middle Years Programme (MYP), is seeking a seasoned MYP Coordinator to lead the implementation and continual enhancement of the MYP. This role ensures high standards in programme delivery, teacher expertise, and student learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the planning, execution, and regular evaluation of the IB Middle Years Programme in compliance with IB standards and guidelines.
• Manage IB authorization, evaluation, and self-study initiatives, acting as the main point of contact with the IB organization.
• Provide mentorship, support, and professional development to MYP teaching staff concerning programme delivery, curriculum unit design, and assessment strategies.
• Supervise the Personal Project process, service as action activities, and development of Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills within the MYP framework.
• Lead the moderation and standardization process for MYP assessments across all academic disciplines.
• Coordinate preparations for eAssessment and manage submissions for external moderation.
• Drive MYP-focused continuous professional development (CPD) and engagement with Nord Anglia University resources.
• Effectively communicate MYP program expectations, student progress, and outcomes to parents and the broader school community.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a valid teaching qualification with classroom teaching experience in an IB MYP school.
• Completed IB MYP workshop training at either Category 1 or 2 level.
• Possesses comprehensive expertise in MYP curriculum, assessment criteria, eAssessment, and the Personal Project.
• Understands IB programme standards, practices, and authorisation requirements thoroughly.
• Experience in curriculum leadership or as an IB coordinator is desirable.
• Exhibits excellent organizational, communication, and coaching skills.
• Committed to safeguarding and supporting the welfare of all students.
• International school experience, particularly within the Middle East region, is advantageous.
