Facilities Manager

About the Role

Nord Anglia Education is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to join Etqan Global Academy in Doha, Qatar. Etqan Global Academy (EGA) is a newly established IB World School offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). The Facilities Manager will be tasked with the operational management, maintenance, and safety of the school's buildings, grounds, and infrastructure, thereby supporting the learning environment and the broader school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the school campus ensuring all facilities remain safe, operational, and suitable for their intended purpose.
• Develop and implement planned preventative maintenance schedules and coordinate reactive maintenance activities.
• Manage statutory inspections, testing, certifications, as well as assist with both internal and external audits.
• Supervise contractors and service providers on-site, ensuring work completion is safe and meets quality standards.
• Facilitate refurbishment and capital improvement projects through effective planning and coordination.
• Maintain detailed asset registers, equipment logs, and maintenance histories to optimize asset lifecycle management.
• Assist in managing facilities-related budgets and procurement processes, aiming to identify cost efficiencies.
• Provide facilities support for school events, examinations, and emergency responses as required.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a degree, diploma, or relevant qualification in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in managing facilities operations within complex environments.
• Skilled in coordinating maintenance schedules and managing contractors.
• Comprehensive knowledge of building upkeep, statutory compliance, and facilities management principles.
• Strong organisational abilities, effective communicative skills, and proficiency with IT tools.
• Certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), NEBOSH, IOSH, or project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2) are advantageous.
• Experience in educational settings and/or within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region is a plus.
