Overview

The Murex Front Office Support Consultant will serve within the GM IT Front Office Squad, delivering IT support and services to the Global Markets team. This team handles support, change requests, and projects related to Global Markets. The consultant’s role is to provide level 1 and level 2 trading floor assistance to traders and control units.

Work Setting

This is an on-site position based in Abu Dhabi.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily operational support to traders and middle office personnel, resolving issues involving profit & loss, position mismatches, market data, and market operations.
  • Set up and configure interest rate, credit curves, and static data such as securities, indices, currencies, vol surfaces, portfolios, user groups, and access permissions within Murex.
  • Develop new pre-trade rules, and create or modify lookup tables, simulation views, e-tradepad strategies, and Live Book views.
  • Participate in testing during patch and version upgrades, ensuring P&L and Greeks are accurate and preventing regressions.
  • Communicate progress and blockers related to ongoing issues to managers and stakeholders.
  • Support the creation and refinement of business and operational procedures and assist in developing system training materials as needed.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • 7 to 10 years of experience supporting Murex Front Office functions.
  • Strong expertise in configuring and validating interest rate curves, including ARR curves.
  • Extensive knowledge of at least two asset classes from the list: Interest Rate vanilla and exotic derivatives, Equity Derivatives, Commodity Derivatives, FX Derivatives, Structured Products, Credit Derivatives, or Fixed Income/Money Market; one of these must be exotic products.
  • Deep understanding of pricing, valuation, risk metrics, and sensitivities, particularly for exotic instruments.
  • Proficient in Front Office Murex modules including E-Tradepad, Simulation, Livebook, RTPM, Pre-Trade Workflow, Market Data, Dynamic Tables, P&L Notepad, FDI Templates, Blotters, and Risk Matrices.
  • Experience with implementing and supporting Murex v3.1 front office capabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of capital markets products and processes across front to back office.
  • Experience deploying both linear and non-linear products within Murex.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving aptitude paired with excellent communication abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of financial markets, trading practices, and banking solutions.
  • Familiarity with the full scope of Global Markets workflows: pricing, limit enforcement, booking, risk controls, accounting, settlements, and confirmation generation.
  • Technically competent with prior exposure to banking systems and processes.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with stakeholders for business needs gathering, specification documentation, testing, and related communications.
  • Robust numerical skills with capability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Desirable Skills

  • Working knowledge of Python, SQL, or other scripting languages useful for pricing validation and reconciliation is advantageous.
