Progress 4GL OpenEdge Developer

Project Overview

This role involves contributing to a project focused on regulatory reporting within the Investment Banking sector utilizing Progress OpenEdge (Progress 4GL) technology. A dedicated team supports and develops around 25 Securities systems built on the OpenEdge platform. The existing OpenEdge team operates from Wrocław.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development.
• Direct proven expertise as a Progress 4GL OpenEdge Developer.
• Strong skills in Bash scripting for automation and system management duties.
• Capability to manage system administration tasks specifically within the Progress 4GL OpenEdge ecosystem.
• Knowledge of system performance monitoring, troubleshooting techniques, IT networking principles, and performance evaluation.
• Familiarity with common shell commands, file and process handling.
• Experience using GitLab or other version control platforms alongside automated deployment tools.
• Understanding of system security protocols and access control methodologies.
• Competence in database design, including optimization and tuning for performance.
• Practical experience with Red Hat Linux operating systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in managing and administering Progress 4GL OpenEdge databases is advantageous.
