Project Overview

The Murex Front Office (FO) Support Consultant will be a vital member of the Global Markets IT FO Squad, tasked with delivering IT support services to the Global Markets team. This squad handles support, change requests, and project activities related to Global Markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide level 1 and level 2 trading floor support for traders and control groups.
  • Assist traders and middle office staff with daily issues such as profit and loss (PL) and position discrepancies, market data challenges, and market operations.
  • Configure interest rate curves (including hedges and credit curves) and static data like securities, indices, currencies, volatility surfaces, portfolios, user groups, and access controls within Murex.
  • Develop new pre-trade rules, update lookup tables, simulation views, e-tradepad strategies, and Live Book views.
  • Participate in patch and version upgrade testing, ensuring reconciliation of PL and Greeks to prevent regressions.
  • Update managers and stakeholders regularly regarding issue resolution and major blockages.
  • Support the development of business and operational process improvements and contribute to system training material preparation when needed.

Required Expertise

  • 7 to 10 years of experience supporting Murex front office operations.
  • Thorough experience configuring and validating interest rate curves, including Alternative Reference Rates (ARRs).
  • Proficiency in multiple asset classes (minimum two), such as interest rate vanilla and exotic derivatives, equity derivatives, commodity derivatives, FX derivatives, structured products, credit derivatives, and fixed income/money market instruments; at least one must be exotic.
  • Deep understanding of pricing, valuation, risk management, and sensitivity analyses, especially for exotic products.
  • Strong knowledge of Murex front office modules like E-Tradepad, Simulation, Livebook, RTPM, Pre-Trade Workflow, Market Data, Dynamic Tables, P&L Notepad, FDI Templates, Blotters, and Risk Matrices.
  • Experience with Murex version 3.1 implementation and support related to front office functionalities.
  • Excellent knowledge of capital markets products and end-to-end processes.
  • Experience implementing linear and non-linear products in Murex.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities complemented by excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, trading operations, and banking solutions.
  • Proven capability to engage stakeholders to gather business requirements, create specification documents, and manage testing procedures.
  • Strong numerical aptitude with the ability to perform effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Technical savvy with exposure to banking systems and processes.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Python, SQL, or scripting languages applied to pricing validation and reconciliation tasks.

Additional Information

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, or candidates willing to relocate.

Language requirement: Advanced English proficiency (C1 level).
