Role Summary
The Munitions Controller is responsible for planning, scheduling, and overseeing the maintenance activities related to War Reserve Materiel (WRM), including live, inert, dummy munitions and supporting equipment. This role manages command-and-control operations of explosive activities and operates Munitions Information Systems such as TICMS and MC2 to monitor explosive assets and facilities status. Compliance with contractual obligations and quality management systems is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage routine and contingency operations, including scheduling workloads and production for the Munitions Department to meet contractual requirements.
- Supervise facility, equipment, vehicle, and munitions resources, monitoring status and limitations affecting mission success.
- Report promptly to the Munitions Superintendent about any obstacles or constraints encountered.
- Coordinate with section supervisors to administer awaiting maintenance (AWM), awaiting parts (AWP), and Technical Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) programs.
- Hold regular reviews of AWM, AWP, and TCTO programs and attend TCTO planning and reconciliation meetings.
- Prepare consolidated forecasts and schedules for munitions maintenance and inspections on yearly, quarterly, monthly, and weekly bases.
- Manage the delayed discrepancy file on munitions and equipment and liaise with Munitions Accountability for ADRs and disposal schedules.
- Generate and submit recurring reports to leadership and coordinate workload planning with AEW Munitions Flight.
- Perform extended hours, including standby duties, to support mission needs during peace and combat conditions.
- Assess incoming demands and prioritize support to AEW AMMO Flight, resolving scheduling conflicts as needed.
- Maintain effective communication channels with AEW AMMO Flight and ensure accurate data entry and document routing within TICMS/MC2.
- Control keys and locks as per regulatory guidance and maintain emergency action procedures for various contingencies.
- Track progress of explosive operations and coordinate hazard notifications with relevant departments, including Fire Department.
- Uphold owner/user responsibilities for the Munitions Storage Area and perform entry-controller duties.
- Work across office, maintenance shop, warehouse, and outdoor environments as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Intermediate knowledge of USAF Supply, Traffic Management, Munitions, and Technical Order systems or their US Service equivalents.
- Familiarity with munitions control and scheduling procedures.
- Ability to manage stress effectively and articulate instructions clearly.
- Proficient with PCs, Microsoft Windows, and Office Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Capability to operate material handling equipment.
- Valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation license.
- Four years of military munitions experience.
- Eligibility to acquire and maintain US Secret Government Clearance (requires US citizenship).
- Mandatory use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) based on task requirements.
- Physically fit to perform duties, including lifting/pushing/pulling at least 50 lbs.
- Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
- Normal color perception and depth perception required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Comprehensive working knowledge across all munitions functional areas.
- Intermediate familiarity with MC2 and other related information systems.
- Experience with USAF standards for munitions storage, maintenance, inspection, and control.
- Hands-on experience with TICMS, MC2, TMRS, IMDS/DPAS for Munitions and Material Handling Equipment management.
