Multi-Skilled Technician - Kitchen Equipment

Position Overview

The Multi-Skilled Technician at Four Points by Sheraton in Sharjah is responsible for responding promptly to guest maintenance requests and resolving various repair issues within the kitchen and other facility areas. This role involves routine preventive maintenance, visual inspections, and upkeep of mechanical and kitchen equipment, ensuring smooth operation and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend to guest service repair requests and effectively communicate with guests to resolve issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of kitchen and mechanical tools and equipment.
• Operate utility shut-off valves and maintain accurate maintenance inventory, requisitioning parts and supplies as needed.
• Report daily activities and issues to other shifts following approved communication protocols.
• Possess or develop foundational knowledge in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, and energy conservation.
• Conduct surface preparation and perform minor repairs including painting, drywall, wood trim, light bulbs, and A/C filter replacements with thorough cleaning after work completion.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment such as plumbing fixtures, electrical switches and outlets, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, and guestroom items.
• Use Lockout/Tagout safety procedures prior to conducting maintenance.
• Maintain interior and exterior landscaping and sprinkler systems.
• Use basic computer skills for programming and updating air handler schedules and temperature settings.
• Comply with all company safety and security policies, report hazards, complete safety training, and ensure proper storage of flammable substances.
• Maintain professional appearance, confidentiality, and protect company assets while delivering exceptional guest service.
• Support team goals by fostering positive working relationships and communicating clearly and professionally.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted, moving along stairs, ramps, ladders, and performing bending and reaching movements.
• Complete additional reasonable duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
• Experience in general maintenance and surface preparation including painting.
• Previous experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is advantageous.

Required Qualifications

• Possession of a valid driver's license.
